Were the archived materials used in actual film shoots?
Most materials were used in actual film shoots. The materials archived at the Center are divided into the following four basic types:

1. Original Materials from Film Shoots
Objects used in the actual shooting which are in almost the same condition as when they were used.
Examples: “God Warriors” Rod Puppet, “Battleship Yamato” Miniature Model, “Mighty Jack” Main Wings (Partial)

2. Repaired Objects
Original Materials that have been repaired. These objects have had paint deterioration and missing or damaged pieces repaired. The Repaired Objects are sometimes recreated from just a small piece of the Original Materials, or completely refigured. The degree of repair varies depending on the material.
Examples: “Battleship Mikasa” Miniature Model, “Mighty Jack” Miniature Model (270cm), “Sky Whale” Miniature Model (180cm).

3. Restored Materials using Original Materials
Materials that have been restored to their original condition, based on recreating a mold from the Original Materials.
Examples: “Ultraman” Flight Scene Doll, “Mirrorman” Mask, “Ultra Hawk No. 1” Miniature Model

4. Original Wooden Pattern (mold) / Reproduction from Drawings
These are newly created materials. They were reproduced based on information and data of wooden patterns (molds) and drawing materials that were actually used for the film shoot.
Examples: ZAT Gun, “Tokyo Tower” Miniature Model, “Jet VTOL” Miniature Model

Does the collection all belong to Sukagawa City?
Some materials are owned by Sukagawa City, but many of them are materials loaned by other owners.
Is the Center building new?
The Center’s building was used as “Iwase Noson Kankyo Kaizen Center (Iwase Community Hall)” until May 2019. Renovation started that month, and the building was reborn in November 2020 as the Sukagawa Tokusatsu Archives Center.
